DRX9000 Spinal Decompression Machine
The first spinal decompression machine to market is the DRX9000, produced by a company called Axiom Worldwide. The machine actually represents a major breakthrough in non-surgical spinal decompression. The machine has also been endorsed by the Mayo Clinic’s Dr. John Leslie, who sites clinical research indicating that the machine has been successful in treatment low back pain:
The clinical results of an IRB-approved prospective, multi-center phase II, non-randomized pilot study utilizing the DRX9000™ will be presented by two of its authors at the Parker Seminars Las Vegas February 7 – 9, 2008. The study, authored by Dr. John Leslie of The Mayo Clinic and others, was designed to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of the DRX9000 in the treatment of chronic lower back pain. Patients enrolled in the study had suffered an overall average of ten years of chronic back pain. After two weeks of treatment on the DRX9000 there was an average 50% reduction in pain scores and upon completion of the entire six week protocol an amazing success rate of 88.9% was documented. The investigators also noted an improvement in Oswestry Disability score.
Here is what Axiom Worldwide representatives have to say about the machine in general, and then I will talk with you about some controversy that surrounds this machine.
Axiom Worldwide manufactures and distributes its flagship products, the DRX9000 True Non-surgical Spinal Decompression System™, DRX9000C™, and DRX9500™ in medical markets around the globe. Axiom also manufactures a digital electroceutical device, the EPS8000™, for use in relieving pain and for use in muscular rehabilitation. Axiom prides itself on providing safe, non-surgical alternatives that patients should consider prior to undergoing surgery.
There have been some allegations that Axiom Worldwide has misrepresented the clinical effectiveness of their spinal decompression machines. However, as you will read below, they maintain that this is not the case.
Board complaints target ads, not effectiveness of spinal decompression device
Axiom Worldwide, USA, has revised its advertising and marketing campaign in response to various issues raised in the spinal decompression industry. It has been reported that several state chiropractic boards have been investigating what they say are unfounded advertising claims made by doctors using the company’s DRX9000 device.Axiom indicates it has taken steps to provide its doctors with advertising that avoids these issues to allow doctors to concentrate on treating their patients without having to get involved with the resolution of the issues raised regarding the older advertising.
While some of the marketing language may change, Axiom stands by its assertion that the DRX9000 spinal decompression system is an effective and valuable therapeutic device supported by numerous studies and real‑life clinical experiences.
Regardless of how you feel about these marketing practices, you must admit that some of the evidence for the use of nonsurgical spinal decompression machines is compelling, and it is certainly an option that you should consider discussing with your doctor or a specialist.
